Uganda chimpanzee safari experience adventure holiday is designed strictly for those primate lovers a unique adventure safari to Ngamba Island, Kibale Forest Park, Budongo Forest,Semuliki national park, Kalinzu and Kyambura gorge places where chimpanzee can be seen in their Natural habitat.
Day 1: Arrival- Transfer to the hotel
As you arrive at Entebbe Airport you will be met by a member of 1000 Shades of Green team, who will drive you to Laico Lake Victoria hotel in Entebbe. Laico Hotel nestles in a lush tropical gardens, amidst majestic royal palms trees, while its verandas and terraces overlook the calm beauty of Lake Victoria. B.B
Day 2: Ngamba Island Tour
In the morning after breakfast, you will set off for Ngamba Island from Entebbe pier. The motor boat takes off for the island at 8:00AM and so you are advised to arrive at Entebbe pier by 7:30AM. You will spend a full day working with the chimpanzees and trained personnel. Dinner and Overnight at Ngamba Tented Camp. B.L.D
Day 3: Entebbe – Murchison falls National park
After breakfast, you will take a motorized boat from Ngamba back to Entebbe pier. Your guide will pic you up and take a scenic drive to Murchison Falls with a visit to the Rhino sanctuary (optional for an extra $48 per person). After rhino tracking, have lunch and then proceed to the top of Murchison falls. Drop your luggage at the lodge and enjoy an afternoon/evening game-drive. Dinner and Overnight at Budongo Eco-lodge. Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking – Budongo Forest
Budongo Forest is home to some 600-700 chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii). Walk to the briefing point after breakfast and be briefed about the dos and don’ts while tracking the chimpanzee. You follow your ranger into the forest and track the chimpanzees. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch and in the evening go for an evening game drive at Murchison falls national park. Dinner and Overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge. B.L.D
Day 5: Entebbe- Kibale Forest
Transfer after your morning breakfast for Kibale National Park. This will take between 5 to 7 hours of driving through rough road. Kibale National Park is easily Uganda’s most famous national park for Chimpanzee trekking. The park is a home to a total of 70 mammals’ species and most famous 13 species of primates. Arrive at Kyaninga lodge in the afternoon in time for lunch. Kyaninga Lodge is set against a stunning backdrop of Lake Kyaninga and the legendary Mountains of the Moon. and later you will go for an evening nature walk at Bigodi swamp. Day 6: Chimpanzee Habituation –Kibale Forest
This morning’s African adventure begins with an exploratory and sensational chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale Forest, arguably Africa’s largest surviving hardwood forest. The forest is home to 13 primate species, 375 species of birds and many other forest animal species. Return to the lodge for a hot shower and later dinner. Day 7: Kibale –Semuliki
Early morning drive to Semuliki national park with the visit to Sempaya hot springs before checking in your hotel. After lunch, you will visit the Batwa people (pygmies). Like many other indigenous groups around the world, the Batwa people are traditional hunter-gatherers who have struggled to cope with life in the 21st Century. Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Semuliki national park
Earl morning drive to Kijura for briefing and join your rangers for chimpanzee tracking. The trail can take between 4 – 6 hours as you follow the tracks of the chimps. The trail is exciting with several birds sighted along the way and occasionally Elephants, buffalos, and lion. Or you can opt for a full day chimpanzee habituation join the researchers as they follow chimps from early morning as they leave their nests to lake evening when they get back to nesting. Day 9: Semuliki- Queen Elizabeth National park
Depart after your morning breakfast for Queen Elizabeth via Kasese. Take lunch and relax at the Lodge. Later, take a sunset game-drive to end the day in an adventurous style. Dinner and Overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge. B.L.D
Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking – Boat Launch
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to the briefing point and be briefed by a ranger. Assigned in your group, you will begin tracking the chimpanzees at Kyambura gorge and return in the afternoon. You will drive back to the lodge for refreshment and lunch and later go for an evening boat launch on Kazinga Channel. The afternoon boat-cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The birdlife is colorful and abundant. Enjoy a sundowner while admiring the view before a dinner. Dinner and overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge. B.L.D
Day 11: Chimpanzee Tracking –Kalinzu Forest
Kalinzu covers an area of 147 sq. km and is adjacent to the famed Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Maramagambo Forest. The Forest is famous for 414 Species of trees, it harbors 378 Species of Birds, six different Species of Primates, Blue Monkeys, Vervet Monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys and Chimpanzees, 262 Butterflies, 97 Moths, Reptiles and Flowers. You will be guided by trained rangers and after tracking return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening you will take an evening game drive at Queen Elizabeth National park. Dinner and overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge. B.L.D
Day 12: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi
Early morning drive to Bwindi through Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth national park with a chance to have a glimpse of the famous tree-climbing lions. Arrive in the evening, check in have dinner and get ready for your gorilla adventure the following day. Dinner and Overnight at Four Gorillas lodge. B.L.D
Day 13: Gorilla Trekking
The long awaited day! Early morning preparations for the activity, with packed lunch, attend briefing by the Ranger-guide, get collect your walking stick and follow the Ranger to the Sanctuary. Maximum time allowed with the fascinating Gorillas is one hour. Return to the lodge refresh and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and Overnight at Bird’s Nest resort. B.L.D
Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi- Entebbe Airport
An early breakfast and you will be transferred back to Entebbe International airport with a stop at the Equator and some of the various African craft market in Kampala before proceeding to the airport for your onward flight back home.
