Combine Rwanda’s Virunga Volcanoes and Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest on the same safari adventure and meet these giant creatures in their natural habitat.

Day 1 – Arrival and transfer to – Volcanoes National Park
Today you will meet our highly skilled safari guide who will welcome you and lead this 7 day Safari. In case you arrive early, we shall have a Kigali City Tour, else he will drive you Volcanoes National Park found in the northern part of the country. This park is home to over 300 of the 800 mountain gorillas remaining in the entire world. You will dine and spend the night at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge-B.L.D

Day 2 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by our Safari guide from 1000 Shades of Green and then head southwestwards to the gorilla habitat of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. Along the way you will make a stopover for lunch at Lake Bunyonyi town and then continue with the drive going through the scenic Kabale also commonly referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa”. Dinner and Overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge. Day 3 – Gorilla Tracking

Today morning, we shall have breakfast early in the morning and then transfer to the headquarters of the park where we shall be briefed by the park rangers who will inform us about the gorillas tracking guidelines. Once you enter into the impenetrable forest you will begin looking for the giant gorillas and this will take between 2 and 8 hours, basing on the gorilla’s movement. You will be allowed to spend at most an hour observing the gorillas as they play, feed and care for each other as you take photographs and record videos. Later on in the evening there will be an optional cultural walk to visit the Batwa Pygmies who will also entertain you with traditional dances and songs. Dinner and Overnight atIchumbi Gorilla Lodge. Day 4 – Batwa  (Pygmies) Cultural Experience

At 7:30AM you will depart Nkuringo Gorilla Camp and descent to Kisoro town. This drive takes about 2-3 hours depending on the seasons. Arrive in Kisoro and check in your hotel .  In the afternoon after breakfast, you will head to Mgahinga forest for another cultural experience. Today you will enjoy the Batwa Trail, a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures worldwide. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people displaced from the rain forest they shared with mountain gorillas. This experience will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age old culture while you enjoy a hike with the Batwa guides, see how they lived and hunted, hear ancient legends and learn about medical plants. The revenue generated from these activities directly benefits the Batwa to strengthen their community.Dinner and Overnight at Ichumbi Hotel Kisoro – B.L.D

Day 5 – Return to Rwanda | Departure

After breakfast transfer to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters for briefing and later begin the hike over the volcanic terrain in search for Golden Monkeys in the bamboo forests. Mgahinga National Park shares boarders with Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National Park in DR Congo. The park is also the most scenic as it stands at three volcanoes of Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo. After trekking, we shall begin our drive back to Rwanda, making stopovers for lunch and photos on the way. Check in at your hotel and later in the evening go for another cultural experience (CULTURAL VILLAGE IBYIWACU). Return to the Lodge for Dinner and Overnight at  Gorilla View  Lodge-B.L.D

Day 6 – Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes national park

After an early breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters at Kinigi where you will be briefed by the park warden, assigned to a gorilla group to track basing on your physical fitness. At 8:00 am you will be transferred to the respective gorilla tracking starting points and then set out into the forest looking for the gorillas. The search for gorillas takes 1-6 hours traversing the forest paths. You will be spend an hour with the gorillas and afterwards head back to the starting point where you will find your vehicle. In the late afternoon you will enjoy an Ib’iwachu Cultural Village Experience. Afterwards drive to Lake Kivu which is among East Africa’s deepest lakes in the Albertine region.  Along the way you will Enjoy beautiful views of DR. Day 7 – Kigali City Tour | Departure

In the morning you will have a delicious breakfast and then drive back to the capital Kigali. There you will enjoy a thrilling city tour, and visit the handicraft market and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site before being transferred to the airport where you will board your flight. B.L
